What are TAPS Clubs?

The goal of TAPS Clubs in at-risk high schools is to establish a continual, positive, and cohesive relationship between at-risk teens and police in which both gain better understanding of each other and work to improve their community.
TAPS Clubs in at-risk high schools aids to establish a continual, positive, and cohesive relationship between at-risk teens and police in which both gain better understanding of each other and work to improve their community. This relationship is strengthened by a network of police and community partners fostering a one-to-one mentoring relationship with the teens.
TAPS Clubs is a evolution from TAPS Academy adapted for at risk high school programs. Poised to reduce social distance between police and teens. To create an understanding of each other in order to engage, de-escalate and improve communities. TAPS Clubs are rooted in sociological literature. Topics will be covered monthly to manage interactions, conflict, drugs, bullying, gangs, violence, and other pertinent issues.
